Decks Built Like Furniture, Sized for Weather
A deck in this part of the country lives a hard life. Snow load, freeze and thaw, and a high-altitude sun that cooks a cheap finish in two summers. We frame for the load, fasten for movement, and finish with stains and sealers chosen for the exposure, so the deck you get in July still looks right five falls later.
We build wraparound decks on log homes, low platforms over a pond bank, stair runs and railings that meet code without looking like scaffolding, and docks that take a Idaho winter in stride. If the structure touches water, we plan the framing and materials for it from the first drawing.
Because we come out of a cabinet shop, the details get cabinet-level attention. Mitered corners, consistent reveals, and railings that feel solid under your hand are the standard, not an upgrade.

Flooring is where wood quality and installation discipline show up underfoot every day. We install solid and engineered hardwood in the species that suit mountain homes, distressed hickory that hides real life, white oak for a clean modern read, and walnut when the room calls for something rich.
Pattern work is where we separate from the crews that only do straight lays. Herringbone and parquet fields, borders, and inlays are cut and fitted with the same care we put into a cabinet face, and the results read as architecture rather than flooring.
We acclimate the wood to your home before a board goes down, plan expansion for the season swings we get here, and finish for the traffic the room will actually see. Done that way, a hardwood floor is a fifty-year surface.
One Shop, Inside and Out
Having the deck, the floor, and the cabinetry come from one shop keeps the whole home speaking the same language. Stain tones can be matched from the front door to the back deck, and one schedule covers work that would otherwise take three contractors to coordinate.
We handle decks and flooring across Rigby, Idaho Falls, and the mountain communities on both sides of the state line, and we quote each project firm before we start, the same as every job that leaves our shop.

- What decking materials do you work with?
- We build in cedar and other naturally weather-resistant woods as well as composite decking when low maintenance is the priority. For docks and anything near water we choose materials and fasteners rated for constant moisture. We will walk you through the trade-offs of wood versus composite for your site and budget before anything is ordered.
- Can you match new flooring to my existing cabinets or trim?
- Yes, and it is one of the advantages of using one shop. We can match or deliberately complement the species and stain of your cabinetry and millwork so the floor reads as part of the same home rather than a separate project.
- When is the best season to build a deck here?
- We build decks from spring through fall and use the winter to design and get projects on the schedule. If you want to be on the deck by summer, the smart move is to start the conversation in winter so materials and the build slot are locked before the season rush.
